Making a Laminated Bent-Shaft Paddle
Shaving Horse
A built a shaving horse after my father-in-law
mentioned the prospect to me. I found plans for a
Swiss Shaving horse and built it out of 2X stock.
Several plans turn up on a web search.  The one I
used is no longer on the web.  Here are two:

My plans called for three legs, but four would make
it more stable. The legs I placed on the shaving
horse are too small, and some day I will shape
some from larger stock. I purchased these legs at a
local lumber supply.
Here I am shaping the shaft with a spokeshave.
The paddle is held in place with pressure from my
right foot.

I stapled closed-cell foam to all parts in contact with
the paddle to prevent scratching and gouging.

With an additional leg, this would be a fine work tool!
